It’s a new week, and my final exam mayhem is closing up on me. Spring semester is done in about 2 weeks, before I can take a well deserved break and do some travelling before my summer semester starts. Can’t wait to graduate in August!! There is finally light at the end of my tunnel.

I love me some One Girl Cookies in Dumbo. It’s my favorite Dumbo coffee shop, hands down. Their coffee and whoopie pies are delish, and I enjoy the environment, the background music, and I can get really focused on my work when I sit there. The place is usually packed, and hint hint, there is a celebrity living awfully close to this place. Additionally, there is always something entertaining to watch going on outside the shop, especially wedding photo shoots. Well, Dumbo in general is VERY popular for photography, anything from wedding to fashion shoots. And yesterday, they shot a scene from the new Spiderman movie right by One Girl Cookies. The entire area was packed with police cars, and I saw a busted yellow cab, probably used for the scene
Anyways, Happy (American) Mother’s Day!!! <3 And enjoy your Sunday, whether your in NYC, Norway, or in other parts of the world.
The most fascinating Norwegian alternative rock band, Kaizers Orchestra, is unfortunately calling it quits, and what better way to do it than with a performance in New York City. The show is at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Thursday May 16th at 7:00pm. Go here for tickets and more information. I will do a backstage interview of the guys + watch their show, so stay tuned for this exciting upcoming blog post.
Kaizers have released many intriguing and eccentric videos throughout the years. Here is “BegravelsesPolka” (English: Funeral polka) from the latest album “Violeta Violeta”.

Snapped these photos on 5th Avenue and Madison Avenue this morning, on my way to Oscar Blandi‘s salon. Manhattan is so nice early on Saturday mornings, before it gets packed with people.

I don’t care what people say, but the best burger w/fries in NYC is at The Standard in Meatpacking. The burger is not huge, just the right size. And it’s not even on the menu, you have to ask for “the standard burger with fries”. Had it plenty of times, and they never get it wrong. Oh man, it’s delicious. Trust me.
